My name is Martel Summers, and I’m the heart behind Summerscapes Co. LLC.
Originally from the Midwest, I was born in Elkhart, Indiana but I’ve proudly called Texas home for over 20 years. My journey in this industry began at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where I studied Construction Science and played Division I football as a Bobcat.
Early in my career, I co-founded a restoration company, gaining invaluable experience in storm chasing and disaster response. However, I soon realized my true passion lay elsewhere.
This passion led me to Whittlesey Landscape Supply and Recycling in Austin, TX where I played a key role in launching the sports division for Nolan Ryan.
During my time there, I deepened my knowledge of landscape materials, their science, and their applications. But I knew I wanted more—I wanted to build something of my own. That’s when I founded Summerscapes Co. LLC.
What started with me working solo with my bare hands has grown into a business driven by a deep commitment to quality and creativity. For me, landscaping isn’t just a job; it’s a calling. It’s about connecting with people on a personal level and helping them bring their dreams to life. Every project I undertake is a reflection of my dedication to turning ideas into tangible, beautiful realities. I’ve been fortunate to have mentors, family, friends, and colleagues who helped make my dreams come true, and now, I’m here to do the same for you.
